Custom mattresses take approximately 4 weeks. Custom box springs are also available. We need precise dimensions to make your set and give you an accurate price, including length, width and depth. If you are unsure of how to measure, we can assist you via telephone or you may pay a nominal transportation fee for a technician to visit your home, take measurements and suggest the appropriate mattress or set to customize. This fee also includes an insurance policy that guarantees your set will fit perfectly. Research shows that utilizing the proper mattress in infancy through adolescence, promotes healthy sleep habits for a lifetime. Infants should sleep on a very firm surface as a preventative for suffocation as babies learn to roll over. At twelve months and older, babies may move to a toddler bed style with more cushion for comfort. We build both a standard crib mattress with a firm surface feel on both sides, as well as a dual crib mattress with a firm infant side and a plush toddler side. This allows you to flip the mattress to meet your child’s needs as they age.
Crib mattresses are typically a standard 52” length, 27.5” width and 5” depth, however, they, like all of our products, can be made into custom sizes and shapes to accommodate play yards, bassinets, antique cribs or any other child’s bed you may have.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”15px”][vc_column_text]It is also critical to note that we only build non-toxic products. All of our mattresses are guaranteed to be free of toxic chemicals and flame retardants that are common in national brands. Babies are highly sensitive to toxins and it is of utmost importance to limit their exposure to these materials. These toppers are the exact same panels that we would stitch on to a mattress to create a pillow top surface, but instead of sewing them, we attach elastic straps to them so they may fit onto a mattress and be removed, much like a mattress pad. These straps are either attached to the corners of the topper or run the length of the topper so they may slide on to only half of a mattress and still stay in place.
Why buy a topper? Sometimes we like the feel of a pillow top, but the maintenance schedule isn’t practical for our lifestyle. Adding a topper allows the maintenance schedule to be significantly more manageable. Sometimes we have an existing mattress that just isn’t soft enough. Regardless of the style of mattress or age, adding a topper will add significant cushion to the feel of the mattress, making it more comfortable and in some cases, extending its life. Other times, we share a mattress with a partner, but we don’t share their preferences with regard to comfort. We often use toppers on one side of a king mattress, for example, but not the other. She gets the plush feel of a pillow top, while he gets the firmer feel without the extra cushion, and both are still sleeping in the same bed.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”15px”][vc_column_text]Toppers are available in all synthetic materials as well as natural materials. We also add a layer of natural wool to help with temperature regulation, dust mite and allergen detraction, and comfort for aging/arthritic hips. They can be made to accommodate any size pet bed frame, crate or enclosure, or any size pet.
